Darius Kohanim
Darius’ music career began eleven years ago as a drummer in a experimental band in Atlanta, GA. Although he stayed with bands for seven years or so, he eventually got tired of just dropping beats so he started to play records and then started producing, which has become the main focus for him. After having a two year residency at club illusion, the club closed down and Darius retreated to his basement to make music for the last two years.
After teaming up with local producer, Habersham on a project called Panopticon which is Habersham, Darius Kohanim, and Ben Mcpherson, things have really started to take off. Panopticon’s first release, “Revealing The Door,” is due out on Dec. 10th on Dave Seamen’s label Audiotherapy. After getting support from Digweed himself on Kiss 100, this record looks to make its mark felt.
Recently Darius has put up seven of his own tracks available for download on edmdigital.com. With many original tracks unsigned, Darius looks to make a career out of making quality dance music. His style of music is abstract ambient techy progressive. But the word progressive has become so bland that it almost means nothing now so the best description of his music is really deep ambient music with a lot of energy and chug to the step with every songs purpose having listeners daydreaming into space by the end of the song.
Darius loves making music that will suck you in deep , fish hook as they say, but on the deepest level. Driving to make as much music as possibile, he will continue to try and have his own impact on the industry before its all said and done.
